Taking care of your cat’s skin and coat

A healthy skin is supple, clean, free of dandruff and redness and covered with a bright and vibrant coat. How can you make sure your cat’s skin and coat check the above list?

A complete and balanced diet

There is no single ingredient that improves skin and coat. A complete diet supplies all nutrients that are needed for healthy skin, such as omega-3 and 6 fatty acids.

Flea Prevention

Fleas cause itchy skin that in turn prompts a cat to lick and scratch for relief. The licking and scratching can cause wounds and bald patches. Always check your cat for fleas and use a flea preventative made for cats.

Grooming

Cats groom themselves regularly. However it is still advised to perform regular brushing/coating as it helps remove mats, dirt and excess dead hair. It also enables the pet owner to watch out for any inflammation on the skin.

When bathing your cat, you must use cat shampoo and never regular shampoo, as the latter causes irritation and skin problems. Bathing too often is not recommended.
